KILLEEN, Texas — The Killeen Police Department has issued an urgent warning to the community regarding a troubling increase in fentanyl use.
Fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid, is 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine and can be deadly even in small amounts.

- Fentanyl is often mixed with other drugs, frequently without the user’s knowledge.
- Only a few grains of fentanyl can cause a fatal overdose.
- Fentanyl overdoses can occur rapidly and may be difficult to reverse.

- Keep naloxone (Narcan) available and learn how to administer it.
- If you suspect an overdose, call 911 immediately.
