Chick-fil-A in Temple shut down while employee awaited COVID-19 test results set to reopen

Although the employee has not yet received results, the owner said the location will reopen tomorrow as staff has been cleared to work by county health department.

TEMPLE, Texas — A Temple Chick-fil-a employee was tested for COVID-19, according to a post from the restaurant owner Steve Joy.

The employee worked at the location on S. 31st St. and has not been at work while awaiting test results of a test taken March 26.

According to the post, the restaurant closed for the week after the employee was tested.

Now, the restaurant is set to reopen April 4 although the symptomatic employee has not received test results. However, the post indicated that employee would remain in self-quarantine awaiting results and to complete a 14-day period.

Joy said the employee who was tested was no longer sick "and the doctor is confident this case is not a COVID-19 virus..." although results have not returned.

"All other employees returning to work have been cleared by the Bell County Health Department," the post said.
