TEXAS, USA — Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and Baylor Scott & White Health have announced that they have reached a temporary extension for contracts for the next three months.
The original deal was set to expire on July 1. Both sides have been locked in contract negotiations for months, putting patients at risk of having to pay more for medical coverage and losing certain benefits because BCBSTX would be considered out of network for care.
The agreed upon extension continues to give patients access to in-network benefits as well as extends provider and facility contracts to Oct. 1.
