WACO -- A 29-year-old former Central Texas law enforcement officer must serve 10 years of probation for fondling a juvenile girl while he was on the police force.
William Geoffrey Byrom was sentenced Tuesday in Waco after earlier pleading guilty to indecency with a child by contact.
Byrom was a police officer in Crawford when the allegations surfaced and he was fired in 2014. Investigators say the case involved a girl under age 17.
An affidavit says the girl was interviewed, by officials with the Waco Child Advocacy Center, in 2013 about several alleged incidents of Byrom molesting her.
