BELTON, Texas — Belton Independent School District's Delta Program Facility is one step closer to becoming a reality.
At a board meeting on Monday, Jan. 22, the BISD Board of Trustees selected T.F. Harper as the district's construction partner for the construction of the Delta Program Facility, said the district in a post on social media.
The Delta Program is a program that supports students with special needs as they transition into "adult independent living and work", according to the district.
BISD said final construction documents were released for bidding on Dec. 22, 2023, and they received bids through Jan. 16, 2024.
In addition to academic spaces, the Delta Program Facility is also planned to include a commons area, a food preparation space and a retail store, said BISD.
The decision on a construction partner will allow the superintendent to negotiate and execute a contract "So that construction can begin soon", said BISD.
BISD's project team reportedly collaborated with stakeholders to identify requirements for the Delta facility after the passage of the 2022 Bond.
