WACO, Texas — The Nicki Collen era has reached new heights in Waco. On Tuesday night, No. 21 Baylor Women's Basketball defeated No. 4 Utah, 84-77, marking one of the biggest wins during Collen's time as head coach.
The Bears secured their first top-five win since their 74-58 win over No. 1 UCONN on Jan. 9, 2020.
The best part about this big time upset? Baylor never trailed against the fourth best team in the nation. Sarah Andrews led the way with 18 points (a team high), Dre'Una Edwards was right behind with 14 and Darianna Littlepage-Buggs was a monster down low racking in 10 rebounds.
Edwards put on a show while playing against her former Utah team for the first time since transferring after the 2018-2019 season. Andrews, Edwards, Bella Fontleroy and Aijha Blackwell all racked in double digits marking four in doubles for the second straight game this season.
Baylor now sits at 2-0 in play, looking to carry over this momentum into their next matchup hosting Harvard on Sunday, Nov. 19 with tip at noon from the Ferrell Center.
