Baylor University homecoming parade is less than 24 hours away.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Baylor University alum Brittney Griner would be inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. On Friday, Baylor University released details surrounding its 2024 homecoming parade.
The homecoming parade starts at 8 a.m. Full route details can be found here.
The homecoming parade started in 1909, drawing a passionate crowd. Horse-drawn carriages and wagons alongside early 20th century cars lined Waco streets.
Today, with the University teaching more than 20,000 students, more people than ever before watch the parade.
Ways to watch:
- In person along the parade route downtown beginning at 8:00 a.m.
- On campus along 5th Street. Leading elements of the parade ought to arrive on campus 30-45 minutes after the parade starts.
- The parade also will be streamed live on the official Baylor University Facebook and YouTube accounts, and on the web at: virtualevents.baylor.edu/events/parade.
Beyond the parade
Students, alumni and their families can expect to see a variety of activities and attractions on Friday and Saturday, ranging from autograph sessions to student performances to films celebrating Baylor's history. Attendees can meet student-athletes on the school's track and field and golf teams.
The festivities begin on Friday at 8 a.m. and conclude by 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Baylor football plays against Oklahoma State at 2:30 p.m.
