On Wednesday, Nov. 1, 6 News surprised our latest Taking Care Of Teachers Giveaway winner!

Academy Elementary School 3rd grade teacher Stacy Feree won herself and the entire school staff a Papa John's pizza party after being named the winner of the Greg May Honda Taking Care of Teachers Giveaway!

"Academy Elementary prides ourselves on doing what is best for kids," said Feree in her nomination. "We put kids first in every decision. I teach 3rd grade and love growing my scholars. They are capable of more than they even know."

6 News anchor Kris Radcliffe was there to congratulate Feree and help her and her colleagues celebrate the win.

"Yes, we had a fun day yesterday celebrating with the kids and I think that they were actually all tired coming into today," Feree laughed. "So, that was good, yes, I’m excited, very excited to be honored with this."

Papa John's franchise owner K'Shean Woods also congratulated Feree on the win.

“Super proud," said Woods. "You know, this is the big giveaway for the teachers that work hard all year round and we are just excited that we could be a part of this."

One other thing the 6 News team enjoyed while on campus at Academy Elementary was the school's 3rd-grade broadcasting team, who was on the scene to document the day's festivities.
