Man accused of shooting, killing student on TSTC campus out on bond

Taylor McKibben is charged with murder in the death of Samantha Dragoo.

WACO, Texas — A man was arrested Sunday in connection with the shooting death of a woman on the Texas State Technical College campus.

Texas Department of Public Safety officers were called to the campus around 2:33 a.m. after a report of a disturbance at 308 Webb Ave.

Rangers found the TSTC student Samantha Dragoo, 30, dead with a gunshot wound in her upper body.

She was a graduate of Temple High School, according to Lynda Lopez, Executive Director of Communications.

Taylor McKibben, 20, also a TSTC student, was charged with murder in Draggoo's death.

McKibben was taken to McLennan County Jail. He was released Monday on a $75,000 bond.

TSTC is providing counselors for students who need it, Lopez said.
