LACY LAKEVIEW, Texas — Two people were arrested on Nov. 11 for an alleged ATM theft attempt in Lacy Lakeview, according to the Lacy Lakeview Police Department.
Lacy Lakeview PD said they received a report about an ATM theft in progress around 6 a.m. at the 7-11 store on the IH-35 frontage road.
According to police, when officers arrived on the scene, they saw three people trying to drag an ATM out through the window of the store using a rope. Two of the suspects allegedly tried to flee in a vehicle, while one ran away on foot, police said.
The suspect who fled on foot was apprehended by one officer, while another officer followed the vehicle, stopping it in the Towneplace Suites parking lot, where another suspect was taken into custody, according to the department.
Lacy Lakeview PD said Tadarius Patton and Cameron Bryant were arrested on multiple charges, including:
- Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity - 1F
- Theft of Property <$300K - 2F
- Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle - SJF
- Criminal Mischief >$2500 <$30K - SJF
- Criminal Mischief Causes Impairment to ATM - 3F
- Evading charges
Police said they will continue investigating to determine the identities of everyone involved.
