KILLEEN, Texas — Two people were taken to the hospital and one was arrested after a car crashed into a home in Killeen on July 31, police say.
According to the Killeen Police Department, officers responded to a vehicle crash involving a building around 7:05 p.m.
When officers arrived, they reportedly found that a black Honda Civic had crashed into a home on Leader Drive.
Police said two people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda Civic was reportedly arrested for driving while intoxicated and taken to Killeen City Jail.
According to KPD, a preliminary investigation and witness statements suggest the driver of the Honda Civic was speeding northbound on Old FM 440 in the center-left turn lane passing vehicles when a white Kia Telluride traveling east on Leader Drive entered the lane to turn northbound.
The Honda Civic hit the Telluride on the right side, according to police, and continued to travel northeast, driving into the home.
