HEWITT, Texas — An argument outside a FedEx parking lot in Hewitt landed two men in the hospital Wednesday morning.
According to the Hewitt Police Department, the men opened fire at each other around 8:30 a.m. outside the FedEx warehouse at 685 Alliance Parkway.
Police said the first man fired several shots with a rifle into the second man's vehicle. The second man then returned fire with a handgun, firing two-to-three shots, striking the first man in the hand and stomach.
The first man who was shot drove himself to the hospital where he was later detained. Police say he was undergoing surgery to remove the bullets from his body, and that he is expected to be ok.
The second man went to another nearby hospital and was treated for a shrapnel wound to his side.
