BRAZORIA, Texas — The inmate who escaped Brazoria County prison Sunday was captured in Matagorda County Monday morning just after 8 a.m., the Brazoria County Sheriff's office said.
Yancy, who was serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for continuous sexual abuse of a child out of Victoria County, escaped from the Clemens Unit along Highway 36 in Brazoria, officials said. It is unclear how he got out.
The Office of Inspector General arrested two others in Victoria believed to be involved in Yancy's escape. Leonor Priestle, his mother, was charged with permit/facilitate an escape and Russell Williams was charged with criminal intent to escape, according to TDCJ.
