SUSPECT ARRESTED: Police arrested a suspect for murdering a man by hitting him in the head

Police have arrested a man for the murder of Kevin Berry, who died after he was hit in the head.

TEMPLE, Texas — Temple Police are arrested a suspect in a murder they say took place on Friday, Aug. 16. 

Police say they arrested 66-year-old Todd Johnson for killing Kevin Berry by hitting him in the head. 

Police responded to a call at the 100 block of N 14th St., at around 3:18 a.m. They found 35-year-old Kevin Berry injured after they say someone hit him in the head. 

EMS took Berry to the hospital, but he died from the injury on Sunday, Aug. 16, police say. 

Feed My Sheep Temple put out a statement on Facebook about his death, stating:

"We want to take a moment to honor the life of one of our close friends, Kevin. Kevin unfortunately was a victim of a crime this weekend and his life was taken from him. 

Kevin was a friend of many, he spoke up for those who didn't have a voice, he fought for things he believed in, and he was so so funny. His presence will be greatly missed. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers. Kevin's life matters."
