Update: 15-year-old arrested following discovery of 16-year-old shot dead in Temple

Police say there is no immediate threat to the community.

TEMPLE, Texas — An individual was found dead by Temple Police early Tuesday morning, according to police.

Shortly after 1 a.m., officers on patrol in the 4300 block of Lions Park found an individual in the road that had been shot to death. 

The day after, around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Temple PD provided an update to the case, stating they had arrested a 15-year-old juvenile for murder.

Police say no other injuries have been reported, and there is no immediate threat to the community.

Authorities are seeking information on the homicide as the case is under investigation by the Temple Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit.
