Deadly Lacy Lakeview apartment fire suspect indicted on three counts of manslaughter

A criminal complaint obtained by 6 News revealed details into what started the fire.

LACY LAKEVIEW, Texas — The suspect in the deadly fire at the Northgate Apartments, Acacia Adams, was indicted on three counts of manslaughter on Oct. 12.

Previously, Adams had turned herself in to the Lacy Lakeview Police Department on July 20 after three warrants had been issued.

Adams was being held at the McLennan County Jail on a $100,000 bond for each of the three charges.

According to police records, Adams was issued a criminal trespassing warning at an address along Faye Street about an hour prior to the fire on July 16.

A criminal complaint obtained by 6 News revealed that Adams knowingly left a container of gasoline and a motorcycle with gas in it inside the apartment. The complaint also revealed that Adams recklessly spilled gas all over the apartment, and she admitted to burning incense to ignite the fire.

The fire resulted in three deaths and left 31 people without a home.

According to police, the fire was also believed to have started in Apartment 3, which is the same apartment that was leased out to Adams at the time of the incident.
