Suspect arrested in Bell County after leading authorities on chase from Williamson County

DPS said the suspect evaded authorities into Bell County before coming to a stop in Temple.

TEMPLE, Texas — One person is in custody after allegedly leading authorities on a chase through multiple Central Texas counties on July 9, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

DPS told 6 News troopers tried to conduct a traffic stop on a Chevrolet 2500 that was traveling northbound on IH-35 in Williamson County for a traffic violation around 1:35 p.m.

The vehicle refused to stop and evaded law enforcement officers into Bell County, said DPS.

The suspect reportedly came to a stop at Avenue L and 21st Street in Temple.

The suspect was apprehended and taken to the Williamson County Jail for evading arrest, marijuana possession and unlawful carry of a weapon, said DPS. Temple Police reportedly assisted in the case.

No further information has been given at this time.
