Suspect arrested at Post Oak Mall facing drug charges and active warrants

The warrants include two charges of possession of controlled substance, two charges of credit card or debit card abuse, resisting arrest, and fail to ID fugitive.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Officers arrested Lester Guyton Jr at Post Oak Mall on Nov.24, who was found to have seven active arrest warrants according to College Station Police Department.

The warrants include two charges of possession of controlled substance, two charges of credit card or debit card abuse, resisting arrest, and fail to ID fugitive with a total bond amount of $90,000.00, police said. 

According to officers, they were called to the mall for a follow up investigation involving Guyton, who had been in the mall.

While locating Guyton inside the mall and in forming him of his arrest, he attempted to flee but was quickly arrested by bystanders and officers.

According to officers, Guyton resisted the officers attempts to safely arrest him and was tased before being placed in handcuffs. 

During the arrest, Guyton complained about breathing difficulties, leading bystanders to worry he might be having a seizure. Officers placed him in a recovery position until paramedics arrived.

According to officers, they later found cocaine and marijuana inside a bag Guyton was carrying prior to him running from the officers.

Guyton was taken to a local hospital. He will be taken to the Brazos County Jail after.

He will be booked on his original seven warrants and will have additional charges of evading arrest, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
