BOSQUE COUNTY, Texas — Six undocumented immigrants were arrested in Bosque County Wednesday, each with federal warrants or pending criminal charges across Texas, according the Bosque County Sheriff's Office.
Bosque Deputy Tyler Shaw conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday. The sheriff's office said they learned that two people involved in the traffic stop were undocumented and had felony warrants. This led him to contact an Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Waco.
Shortly after, undercover ICE agents went to Bosque County to investigate and arrest the two. In the process, they learned of other undocumented immigrants staying at the American Inn on Highway 6 in Meridian, according to the sheriff's office.
ICE, Bosque and Meridian authorities searched four rooms, which resulted in the arrest of six undocumented immigrants.
The suspects are in ICE custody and now at a holding facility in McLennan County for processing with pending criminal charges, the sheriff's office said.
