MILAM COUNTY, Texas — An investigation into a threat that was made on a Rockdale ISD webpage has resulted in the arrest of a Rockdale High School teacher.
According to the Milam County Sheriff's Office, they became aware of the threat around 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 and that it had been posted by an anonymous user. As officials investigated the threat, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and United State Secret Service helped track down the IP address that the threat was made from through a warrant.
The Rockdale High School teacher, who was identified as Michael Smith, 40, of Caldwell, was found to be the person that made the threat. He was interviewed on campus by investigators and admitted to making the threat and was ultimately arrested.
The sheriff's office says Smith has been magistrated and is facing charges of Terroristic Threat and Making a False Report.
