ROBINSON, Texas — A missing woman and child have reportedly been found dead after allegedly crashing into a pond, according to the Hill County Sheriff's Office.
The Robinson Police Department posted on social media on Monday, April 15 asking for help locating 33-year-old Lauren Bonvillian and 4-year-old Savannah Bagley. The two had reportedly been last seen leaving Corsicana towards Robinson on April 14.
Texas DPS says it responded to the scene of the crash around 7 p.m. on Monday near SH-31 and County Line Road, southwest of Mt. Calm. Both Bonvillian and Bagley were found dead at the scene, according to DPS.
After the news broke of their deaths, Robinson police updated their post to say, "We are saddened to announce a tragic ending to this case. Lauren and Savannah were located deceased late this afternoon in Hill County as the result of a one vehicle crash. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and everyone affected by this tragedy."
The Sheriff's Office said they believe the car somehow went off the road on Highway 31 and crashed into a pond, where it is believed that Bonvillian and Bagley were unable to escape.
No further information has been made available at this time.
