AUSTIN, Texas — A former principal from the Austin area is in the Montgomery County Jail after being charged with possession of child pornography.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, a search warrant was executed at a home in The Woodlands on Thursday after an investigation from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) division of the Sheriff's Office detected possible possession of child pornography.
Detectives determined that Curtis John Locklear was the suspect and arrested him at the scene, charging him with possession of child pornography.
Additional investigating revealed that Locklear served as principal of Blockhouse Creek Elementary in Leander ISD from June 1995 until July 2008. He is also an author who often travels for his work.
Locklear is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail on a $300,000 bond.
