A Lampasas County man was arrested after police said he shot another man in the leg Saturday evening.
Conrad Magana Jr., 19, was charged with second degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to law enforcement, Magana shot 22-year-old Lee Anthony Garcia, of Lampasas, around 6:35 p.m. just south of Crider Lane on Old Georgetown Road. The Lampasas Police Department said investigators determined the two had a brief altercation that ended with a gun being fired.
Lampasas County Sheriff's Deputies and DPS troopers also responded to the scene. Garcia was taken by ambulance to Metroplex Hospital in Killeen. Police said his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
If convicted, Magana could face anywhere between two and 20 years in prison, along with a fine of up to $10,000.
Investigators were interviewing people Saturday night to try to determine what led up to the shooting and the caliber of weapon used.
