Police chase in Grimes County ends in arrest of man

Jonathan Vernon was driving a motorcycle reported stolen out of College Station, according to police.

GRIMES COUNTY, Texas — A police chase in Grimes County on Friday ended in the arrest of Jonathan Vernon, according to police.

Police say they attempted a routine traffic stop on the motorcycle for not having a license plate when Vernon took off at speeds over 110 mph.

Vernon came to a stop on SH 6 just south of William D. Fitch Parkway after the motorcycle malfunctioned. Police say the bike was also reported stolen out of College Station.

Vernon was arrested and being charged with Evading Arrest Detention with a Motor Vehicle, which is a Third-Degree Felony.
