One person taken to hospital after alleged shooting at Mexia gas station

Police said multiple shots were exchanged between two vehicles.

MEXIA, Texas — One person was taken to the hospital after an alleged shooting in Mexia on Oct. 26, according to the Mexia Police Department.

According to police, the incident occurred at the Valero gas station at the intersection of Milam and Baily around 2:20 p.m.

The occupants of two different vehicles had a "confrontation" which resulted in multiple shots being exchanged, police said.

Mexia PD said one person involved in the altercation was injured by the gunfire and is in the hospital in stable condition at the time of writing.

Vehicles and weapons used in the incident have reportedly been located and taken into evidence, according to police.
