NAVASOTA, Texas — A man is dead after being stabbed on Friday, Oct. 25 in the Navasota area.
According to the Grimes County Sheriff's Office, the assault happened just after midnight on Friday Oct. 25 in the 5000 block of Hickory Hill Road.
The man, who was described as being in his early 20s, was taken to an emergency room in Navasota but was eventually airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan where he later died.
A woman, recently revealed to be Julia Chaidez, was arrested where the stabbing occurred, according to an update from the sheriff's office on Monday, Oct. 28. She is being charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a first-degree felony. Her bond was initially set at $250,000 for the singular assault charge, but was upgraded to include a murder charge with a $500,000 bond after the victim, identified as Aidan Ramirez, died from the stabbing. Her bonds total $750,000.
Authorities say the incident is being investigated by the Grimes County Sheriff's Office, Texas Rangers, and the Grimes County District Attorney's Office and is related to a "domestic disturbance that escalated."
