KILLEEN, Texas — The Killeen Police Department is reporting the city's 17th murder of the year after a 22-year-old man was shot and killed in the 2200 block of Wheeler Avenue at around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Officers responded to a shots fired call and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds in the road. Despite lifesaving measures from police, the victim was pronounced dead at 12:48 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Nicola James, police said.
Police say this incident is still under investigation, 6 News will continue to provide updates as we receive them.
