Hillsboro authorities arrest three driving stolen car after chase

While the names of the individuals that were arrested were not released, a police drone, dog, and helicopter were used to locate the three suspects.

HILLSBORO, Texas — A pursuit involving a car that had been reported stolen resulted in the arrest of multiple individuals Tuesday night in the Hillsboro area.

According to the Hillsboro Department of Public Safety, officers on patrol that night were notified that a car that had been reported stolen was approaching city limits. The car was spotted traveling northbound on I-35, and one officer attempted to stop the car, but the driver took off, leaving the highway and entering a field. The occupants in the car fled on foot after the car was driven into the field, according to authorities.

The three suspects that fled were unable to get away, as a perimeter was set up by officers. A police drone, K9 dog, and police helicopter were used to locate the suspects in the field, and they were eventually taken into custody and were "prevented from committing any other offenses against the public."

Hillsboro DPS was assisted by the Hill County Sheriff's Office, Hill County Emergency Management, Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, Waco Police Department K9 Unit, and McLennan County Sheriff's Office for providing a helicopter.
