CAMERON, Texas — A man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for robbing and injuring a woman in Rockdale in 2022, the Milam County District Attorney's Office has announced.
According to the DA's Office, 42-year-old Christian Rayford pleaded guilty to robbery in the 20th District Court on Oct. 22. He was reportedly sentenced to serve 25 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice—Institutional Division for robbing a 23-year-old woman in Rockdale in 2022 and injuring her in the process.
Rayford, who was reportedly a resident of Harris County at the time of the crime, has an "extensive criminal history" and was also charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and fraudulent possession of identifying information in addition to robbery, the DA's Office said.
“The Rockdale Police Department and the Milam County Sheriff's Office quickly responded to the scene and worked together to locate the suspect and collect critical evidence that ultimately led to Rayford’s plea and sentence today," said Assistant District Attorney Brandon Dakroub, who prosecuted the cases.
