TEMPLE, Texas — The Lorena Police Department says a 49-year-old man was arrested after pulling a gun out on his family while driving aggressively down I-35 in Lorena on Monday, Dec. 25.
According to police, officers received a call around 5:57 p.m. about the suspect driving erratically and it was noted that he had pulled out a gun.
Lorena PD says Officer Perry attempted to pull the suspect over to conduct a traffic stop. However, the suspect refused to stop and a pursuit began.
Additional help was called in from surrounding agencies due to the fact that a gun was brandished.
According to Lorena PD, officers with the Troy Police Department were able to successfully throw out stop sticks to stop the car. The suspect and the car eventually came to a stop near mile marker 304 in Temple.

Police say the suspect was arrested without any further incident and a loaded handgun was found in the car. He was taken to McLennan County Jail and charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, evading arrest, felon in possession of a firearm and criminal mischief.
