WHEELOCK, Texas — Residents in Wheelock, Texas are being asked to lock their doors and vehicles after a police chase ended in a crash in the area, with the suspects still on the loose.
The Robertson County Sheriff's Office said local law enforcement was involved in a chase on Tuesday, Oct. 22 which ended in the suspects crashing their vehicle at the end of State Street and running from the scene.
Authorities say they believe the suspects may be in possession of at least one gun.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are reportedly searching the scene, but no suspects have been located at the time of writing. Authorities said they will "exhaust every usable search option at their disposal", including ground and air searches.
The sheriff's office stated in an update at 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23 that they have reason to believe that the suspects were picked up and taken from the area based on evidence found but are still searching as an added safety measure.
One suspect has been taken into custody in an update from authorities shortly before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The sheriff's office says law enforcement presence in the area will remain for an "undetermined amount of time." The name of the suspect that was taken into custody was not revealed.
Residents are urged to call 911 if they notice anything or anyone suspicious.
