LACY LAKEVIEW, Texas — An investigation into a domestic disturbance turned into officers being shot at in Lacy Lakeview in the evening on Monday, Aug. 12.
According to the Lacy Lakeview Police Department, the shooting occurred in the 600 block of North Norma Drive in the city. The area was shut down while authorities worked on bringing the suspect into custody. The Texas State Technical College Waco Police Department, Bellmead Police Department, and McLennan County Sheriff's Office were also on scene to assist with the shooting.
A law enforcement official told 6 News that the shooting occurred as officers were investigating a domestic disturbance in the area. Information on the suspect that shot at police was not revealed, but officials say after the shooting took place, the suspect surrendered himself to police without incident.
LLPD added that all involved parties in the shooting were safe and there were no injuries.
