KILLEEN, Texas — The Killeen Police Department says two people were injured in a shooting in the 400 block of Atkinson Avenue on Wednesday, March 27.
According to police, officers were near 8th Street around 11:43 a.m. when they heard shots fired. Once officers arrived to Atkinson Avenue, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police say one of the victims was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White and the other was taken by ambulance, both were reportedly in stable condition.
According to police, officers were told a verbal argument led to the shooting.
The Killeen Police Department says one person was detained. However, police did not disclose what their involvement in the incident was.
This is an active investigation.
