Investigation underway after man reported shot in Killeen, police say

Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public.

KILLEEN, Texas — An investigation is underway by Killeen Police Detectives after a man was reported to have been shot early Thursday afternoon.

Police say the shooting took place at approximately 11:15 a.m. in the 400 block of North 16th Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 33-year-old man had been shot in the chest, police say. He was taken to Baylor Scott and White Hospital and is in critical condition.

Killeen PD says there is no ongoing threat to the public.
