A Killeen man was charged with murder in connection with a Feb. 10 shooting death near the intersection of South Roy Reynolds Drive and West Beeline Lane in Harker Heights.
Parish Dionte Young, 25, surrendered himself Tuesday morning after Justice of the peace Claudia Brown signed a warrant for his arrest. Young's bond was set at $1 million. Officials said he would be transferred from the Harker Heights Police Department to the Bell County Jail sometime Tuesday.
Investigators have accused Young of shooting 35-year-old Larry James Sterling, who was also from Killeen. Sterling was found lying unresponsive in the middle of West Beeline Drive around 2:38 a.m. the morning of the homicide. Police said he was shot multiple times, including once in the neck. First responders tried CPR, but he was pronounced dead at 3:35 a.m.
