KILLEEN, Texas — The Killeen Police Department released the identity of the 17-year-old who was shot and killed in Killeen on Monday.
According to the department, officers were called to the 600 block of Avenue I around 2:31 p.m. after someone reported another person had been shot.
When police arrived, they found Tristen Hochstetler had been shot dead inside a home. Justice of the Peace Nicola James announced his time of death at 4:19 p.m.
Hochstetler's death marks the seventh murder in Killeen this year, police said.
Crime Stoppers and Killeen PD are also asking the public for any information about the murder to come forward. Tips can be called in to 254-526-TIPS or submitted on bellcountycrimestoppers.com. There is also an option to submit an anonymous tip on the P3Tips App anonymously.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 cash for a tip that leads to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible.
