Man dead after being shot in Killeen, victim identified

Police say the case is now the 16th murder for the city this year.

KILLEEN, Texas — A man is dead after being shot around midday in Killeen.

Around 1:04 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, the Killeen Police Department said they were notified of a victim that had been shot in the city.

When officers got to the 2200 block of Botanical Drive, where the incident was reported from, they were able to confirm the report of a victim being shot. The male victim was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White in critical condition, police say.

The victim, identified by police as 18-year-old Octavion Keshun Tucker, later died of his injuries, according to KPD.

Little has been revealed about the shooting, but police say that detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division are actively investigating the incident.
