17-year-old dies after shooting in Killeen

When officers arrived at the scene of the crime--in the 600 block of Avenue I--they found a 17-year-old that had been shot dead inside a home.

KILLEEN, Texas — A 17-year-old is dead after a reported shooting in Killeen on Monday.

According to the Killeen Police Department, officers were called to the 600 block of Avenue I around 2:31 p.m. after someone reported another person had been shot.

When police arrived, they found the teen had been shot dead inside a home. Justice of the Peace Nicola James believes the time the teen died was 4:19 p.m.

The name of the victim was not revealed in an update about the shooting investigation on Tuesday, July 16.

Crime Stoppers and Killeen PD are also asking the public for any information about the murder to come forward. Tips can be called in to 254-526-TIPS or submitted on bellcountycrimestoppers.com. There is also an option to submit an anonymous tip on the P3Tips App anonymously. 

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 cash for a tip that leads to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible.
