KILLEEN, Texas — A 19-year-old is dead following a shooting that took place in Killeen Sunday evening, according to the Killeen Police Department.
That evening, around 7:27 p.m., officers investigated reports that came in of a victim that had been shot in the 400 block of Gemini Lane. When responding officers arrived, they found Keman S. Greenidge, 19, was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Efforts to save Greenidge's life were attempted, and he was airlifted to the Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple, but died from his injuries. He was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Keith Reed at 10:28 p.m. that night.
Killeen Police detectives say they've identified a person of interest in the shooting investigation and say they are an "associate" of the victim. Authorities also say there is no current threat to the community.
