KEMPNER, Texas — A man has been indicted after being investigated for alleged crimes against children, according to the Kempner Police Department.
Police say the man was discovered to be harboring a runaway at a home within the city. After the discovery, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) was asked to assist in the investigation into the finding by Kempner Police officers.
As additional details came to light for authorities, additional victims were discovered in other places across the state, and police say there was additional evidence that showed the man was in possession of child pornography.
Authorities say an investigation into the case is active and ongoing and have stated that no further information will be released. Those with information related to the case are urged to contact the Kempner Police Department.
"The Kempner Police Department is committed to seeking justice for the victims and holding perpetrators accountable," said Child of Police Heriberto "Eddie" Rodriguez of the Kempner Police Department in a press release. "We would like to thank DPS for its support in this matter."
