HEWITT, Texas — The Hewitt Police Department confirmed to 6 News that it is working to find three suspects in a viral video of them stealing an ATM from a Stripes on Thursday, Oct. 26.
Lt. Kasting of the department stated, "We are working the case."
According to police, the theft happened around 7 a.m. Thursday morning at the Stripes located at 514 Sun Valley Blvd.
The three men in the video were using a stolen truck out of Waco, according to the police.
Chief McGrath told 6 News that investigators believe this is connected to other ATM thefts across the state, including one that recently occurred in Temple. McGrath says the stolen ATM and car used in that theft were found dumped in Hewitt.
The Hewitt Police Department says no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made yet.
