Harker Heights man arrested by police after two found injured on Nov. 12

The man that was arrested remains in custody on pending felony charges, according to Harker Heights Police.

HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas — A man was taken into custody after Harker Heights Police investigated an injury in the 300 block and 500 block of West Veterans Memorial Blvd on Sunday, Nov. 12 around 1:44 p.m.

When authorities arrived in the area, they found a female with head and arm injuries. The female also told officers that another man was injured and unresponsive at a nearby abandoned building.

An investigation into who was responsible for the injuries of the two was initiated by Harker Heights PD, and an alleged suspect was later found after an extensive search in the 200 block of Jamie Road. The man was later taken into custody without incident and remain in custody on pending felony charges.

The names of the female that was injured and the man currently in custody were not released.

The man that was found in the abandoned building was later pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Nicola J. James. Dangelo Xavier Valadez, 37, will have an autopsy conducted, according to Harker Heights Police. The woman that was injured received medical attention at a hospital and was later released.

Police say the incident is isolated and there is no threat to the community.
