HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas — Harker Heights High School was placed on lockdown Thursday after Harker Heights police reported an "incident" near the school, according to the Killeen Independent School District.
District officials said all students and staff were safe and the lockdown was a "precautionary measure."
The lockdown was lifted around 1:30 p.m. when students were allowed to exit through the north side of campus.
It is not clear what incident caused the lockdown.
