Two women arrested following shots fired report in Freestone County

The identities of the two females arrested were not revealed.

FREESTONE COUNTY, Texas — Two women were arrested in the Freestone County area on Sunday after deputies responded to a shots fired call.

According to the county sheriff's office, they learned at the crime scene that two men had been shot at by a woman, with one fleeing into the nearby woods to escape being shot. The deputies detained one of the women at the scene alongside another female in order to conduct an investigation into the events that took place.

A drone was used to find one of the male victims that fled the scene with the help of Teague VFD. No injuries were reported from the four that were involved in the incident.

After investigating the scene, authorities arrested the two women, whose names were not revealed, on differing felony charges. Nearly 150 grams of methamphetamine were discovered at the scene by investigators. 137 grams of the illegal substances discovered were liquid methamphetamine, while another 6 grams were found to be crystal methamphetamine.

Both were arrested and charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 in an amount between 4 grams and 200 grams, a first-degree felony charge. One of the females arrested was charged with two counts of Attempted Murder, a second-degree felony charge.

The sheriff's office says they are thankful that no lives were lost from the dangerous situation.
