Authorities find five stolen trucks in Waco worth over $290,000

Four of the vehicles had VIN swaps and were reported stolen from the Dallas/Fort Worth area

WACO, Texas — Five stolen trucks were found in Waco by the Heart of Texas Auto Theft Task Force with the help of the McLennan County Sheriff's Office and the Waco Police Department.

Authorities initially got a tip that there was people in the Waco area in possession of stolen vehicles. This tip led police to the recovery of a stolen Ford F-250 from Waco. That stolen truck led to an address where an additional four trucks were found. 

The other four vehicles all had VIN swaps and were reported stolen from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The value of all five stolen trucks exceed $290,000, police say.

The case is still under investigation.
