FALLS COUNTY, Texas — The Falls County Sheriff's Office arrested a man who they said sent threatening emails to a faculty member at Rosebud-Lott High School.
Officials said they were contacted about the threats by a school resource officer on Sept. 24. They report that an anonymous source had been threatening both the faculty member and their family. The name of the faculty member and the nature of the threats were not released.
The sender of the emails had disguised the IP address of the computer they were using to send the emails, but officials said investigators were able to analyze the emails and develop a person of interest nonetheless.
The sheriff's office obtained an arrest warrant for Frank Stephen Salas on Monday, Sept. 26. Salas was reportedly arrested without incident that night on charges of Felony Stalking.
Officials said they found additional evidence during a search of Salas' home Tuesday morning.
The Falls County Sheriff's Office reiterated that they take all threats against schools, students, and faculty very seriously, and that they will vigorously investigate any time a threat is identified.
The Office also thanked the Rosebud-Lott School Resource Officer for their help in the investigation, as well as the Secret Service for their help in the execution of the search warrant of Salas' home.
