Driver arrested and charged in Killeen following multi-vehicle crash investigation

Nelson is currently in the Bell County Jail, with a $150,000 bond.

KILLEEN, Texas — A 25-year old man has been arrested in connection to his alleged involvement in a five-vehicle crash that happened on Friday, Oct. 13.

According to officers, a complaint was issued charging the driver of the blue Dodge Charger, Devin Lamar Nelson, with Intoxication Assault.

The crash took place in the 1300 Block of E. Stan Schlueter Loop.

According to investigators with the traffic unit, a blue Dodge Charger was traveling eastbound on E. Stan Schlueter Loop, when the vehicle exited its lane and struck another vehicle that was traveling in the outside lane. 

The Dodge Charger continued to travel eastbound, when it struck two more vehicles. The vehicle lost control and struck another vehicle head-on that was traveling westbound of E. Stan Schlueter Loop, according to officers.

The Dodge Charger caught fire. All drivers and passengers a part of the crash were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

There was a warrant out for Nelson's arrest. He turned himself into the Killeen City Jail on Dec 13.

Nelson is currently in the Bell County Jail, with a $150,000 bond.
