KILLEEN, Texas — A suspect was shot during a reported early morning car burglary attempt in Killeen.
According to information shared with 6 News by Killeen Police, a man was inside his home in the 4400 block of Jeff Scott Drive when he heard one of his cars start up in his driveway. The man went to investigate, only to find that the suspect was driving away in his sedan.
Police say the man followed the thief in his Tahoe a short distance to the Eula Bea Court cul-de-sac before the suspect got out of the car and started firing shots at him. The man in the Tahoe returned fire and hit a male suspect that was in the stolen car.
Officers were eventually dispatched around 12:30 a.m. to the 4000 block of Eula Bea Court, where the incident was reported to have occurred. The suspect that was shot was taken to the hospital, police say. No information on their status has been made available.
Police say an investigation into the incident is active.
