Police: Woman, man arrested after barricading selves in Temple home while serving warrant

Eight people were also inside the home and cooperated with police before the stand-off happened, police say.

TEMPLE, Texas — A man and woman have been arrested after barricading themselves inside a Temple home when police tried serving a warrant Monday morning, according to the Temple Police Department.

Both individuals were taking into custody around 10:30 a.m. after being found hidden in an attic crawlspace, according to officers. 

The situation began around 7:30 a.m. when officers served a warrant for drugs and weapons to the home in the 5000 block of Charter Oaks Drive when the two decided to barricade themselves in. 

Eight other people were also inside the home at the time and cooperated, police say.

Temple Police negotiators attempted to contact the man and woman for hours, but were unsuccessful, police say.  

The Temple Police and the Killeen Police Department’s SWAT deployed multiple chemical munitions inside the home before finding the last two individuals. 

Police say the situation has been resolved. There are no injuries reported to officers or suspects. 

Several subjects located at this residence had active warrants for their arrest.
