Two individuals that were responsible for a 'rampage' that involved the killing of one person and another person being beaten were indicted for capital murder in McLennan County on Friday.

Micha Harris and Christopher Beltran, the latter of which is a certified member of the Crips gang, were indicted for the July 28 murder of a truck stop clerk in Elm Mott after holding a Hewitt convenience store clerk at gunpoint and forcing them to give all the money that was available. The clerk was "brutally" beaten by Harris and Beltran before the two drove away by Matthew Beltran, the third individual that was arrested for the crime spree.

The trio was arrested after a four-week investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the McLennan County Sheriff's Office, Hewitt Police Department, Waco Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Anti-gang Unit.

Neither of the victims of the July 28 crime spree had any connection to either of the Beltrans or Harris, McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara said in August during a press conference on the arrests of the trio.
